The Wynn poker room will operate 24 of the 28 tables to ensure social distancing and games will be spread over eight hands with plexiglass dividers separating each player. Masks are necessary, as in every other casino area, and there will be improved sanitation measures to keep the environment as clean as possible.
One of the largest poker rooms in Las Vegas announced it will reopen at the end of the month. Wynn Las Vegas announced Monday that it will reopen its poker room at midday September 30th. It is the last major poker room on the Strip to reopen. Despite reopening the rest of the casino when it qualifies on June 4, Wynn decided that its poker room, which is technically located on Encore, will remain closed until conditions are safer to visit JoniQQ.
Many of the other large rooms decided to reopen early. Bellagio and Caesars Palace started spreading the game again in mid-June, while the Aria poker room reopened July 1. The Venetian has been offering poker since the day the property reopened in early June.
This new guide is in line with what most of the other Las Vegas Strip poker rooms are implementing. The other main halls use plexiglass dividers as well, but Bellagio and Aria are a six-handed game, while Caesars Palace and Venetian spread the eight-handed play.
Beyond just a few casinos, the entire Las Vegas Strip has reopened for business, but not all poker rooms are operational. The poker room at The Mirage is at least temporarily filled with slot machines, and outside of Caesars Palace, all other poker rooms belonging to Caesars Entertainment are still closed. That will change soon when Bally’s begins spreading the game of poker on Friday, September 25th.
